Decided to start another FADE thread while Lang is MIA and this time the Fade is dedicated to none other than the FAKE handicapper Dom Chambers.

I tracked this guy in the past in another Rubber Room thread and he indeed does suck. He picks a lot of Joe Public favorites like Lang does/did and it was often speculated that Lang was the guy behind the Chambers plays because the style of picking losers was so similar.

I will keep track of his dime amounts like I did with Lang but I am going to fade him using the same style of Labby we had in the Lang thread. I actually started fading him yesterday when he had the Tigers and he lost. The day before that he had the Dodgers and he lost. Before that I don't know how he's been doing, recently that is. So if you are going to fade along kind of take it easy until we see where this is going. I'm going to set up another example Labby based on a $1,000 bankroll and we shall see how it goes.

Good Luck! :103631605

Dom Chambers for Wednesday, August 1st

My 70 Dime play is on the Atlanta Braves on the run line against the Miami Marlins. Checking the sports books at 7 a.m. and the Braves on the run line are +110 underdog. Always shop around to get the best possible price.

ANALYSIS

For the Braves, Ben Sheets starts and he has been nearly untouchable in his three starts. He has given up only one run in 18 innings pitched and is 3-0. In all three games, the Braves would have covered the run line.

Sheets has allowed only 13 hits and five walks, while striking out 15 in those three games.

The Braves have won seven straight, and would not have covered the run line only once in those seven games.

They are getting the hitting and pitching.

The Marlins, on the other hand, are struggling, losing five of their last seven games.

To try and shake things up, the Marlins have sent Carlos Zambrano to the bullpen and made Wade LeBlanc a starter. This will be his first start of the season. In 15 2/3 innings, his ERA is 1.15 and a WHIP of 0.892.

That's not bad, but there is a difference between starting and making relief appearances. Don’t expect LeBlanc to keep those kind of statistics as a starter.

Offensively, the Marlins are only averaging 3.7 runs a game, while the Braves are averaging 4.6 runs.

The Braves are home, have the better pitching and the better hitting.

This is a good spot to take the Braves.

Dom Chambers for Thursday, August 2nd

My 40 Dime play is on the Texas Rangers to defeat the Los Angeles Angels. Checking the sports books in Las Vegas at 8 a.m. and the Rangers are -120 favorite. Always list the pitchers. If they fail to make their start, the action is void.

ANALYSIS

Momentum and confidence cannot be understated. After the Rangers lost the first two games of the four-game series, there had to be concerns for both confidence and momentum.

With a four-run 10th inning to rally to get the victory, both are in the Rangers’ corner. The Angels jumped out to a big lead twice and the Rangers fought back for the win.

Now, going into the final fame of a four-game set, this could be a crucial game going into the final two months of the season. The Angels could be three games back or five games back. That is a big difference.

The Rangers are getting the debut of their new pitcher, Ryan Dempster. Getting run support will be something new for Dempster.

In his last three starts, he is 1-2, but he has given up a total of seven runs in three games. If he didn’t pitch a shutout or a one-run game, it was hard to get the win.

Now, he’s going to have some more offense to support him.

The Rangers are starting C.J. Wilson, who has had decent numbers, going 9-7 with a 2.88 ERA. But he has stumbled lately, going 0-2 with a 5.58 ERA in his last three starts. In his last road game, he was tagged for seven runs against Detroit on July 18.

Against left-handed starters, the Rangers average 5.1 runs a game. For the Angels, they average 4.6 runs against right-handed starters.

Take the Rangers to close out the series.
